Okay, so we’re not your average stuffy photography company. We actually REALLY ENJOY what we do — from meeting new people to coaxing a smile from the most stubborn subject! (We have lots of experience with stubborn little personalities in our own home.) Marvin’s goal as a photographer is to facilitate an ENJOYABLE, FUN & MEMORABLE experience.
We get it … we know how difficult wardrobe prep, managing young children, and wheedling a smile out of someone can be! Lucky for me, I married a funny guy. He’s phenomenal at breaking the ice. He’s a little more laid back than the average photographer. His casual personality makes children more comfortable. (He even pretended to be Iron Man for one little boy at his mother’s request.) He’s not afraid to look silly, sound ridiculous, or be completely absurd to get a kiddo to feel more at ease.
Honestly, I don’t get to meet a lot of our clients in person. Especially when they’ve come to our beautiful area for vacation. Largely, I get to communicate with our clients by phone and email. So I always wonder what people are going to look and act like. And when I get to scroll through the images to begin the editing process, I am always excited to learn about a family or couple through the small set of still images in front of me. And sometimes I wonder if it’s worth all the hassle of running our own business (at this point we don’t contract out any of our work). And I see images like these, and BAM! … I fall in love with photography all over again. (And sometimes, my husband too because he is so good at what he does!)
We were honored to photograph this Texan Family on their summer vacation. (They did not fit into the category above of obstinate subjects at all!) The warm evening light on this perfect summer day enhanced the gorgeous glow of this family’s personality!
